In 1998, Brooklyn, New York, resident Kevin Beers gave up his position as an ad agency art director to pursue his real love - working full time as an artist. With the discovery of Maine's Monhegan Island, Beers found his metier making bold, light-filled oils of the island's stark, unembellished cottages. Beers also returns periodically to his first series - big, brushy oils of cars and trucks found abandoned in fields.
